THE WEAKLY 002
The Weakly number two and already a good exercise as not much happened.
Got a lot of shit done that was overdue. Most importantly and the thing that took up the most time was cleaning up and getting things in order in the home studio / home office. Too much stuff that I accumulate and something needed to be done.
So first order was to get everything I could out of the room. Clean all the dark corners that where full of stuff for so long etc. etc. and then go through everything as I am putting stuff back in boxes, on shelves and so on. Kinda happy with the amount of things I was able to get rid of. Still some things I am unsure of and some things that need to go up on our Craigslist equivalent site. One of the most dreadful everyday tasks I can imagine. Ah well.

There was as you can imagine not that much time for anything else, as the place was just in chaos, but I managed to get to my studio at least once and start a Frame for a piece I got from fantatic brazilian Artists Leyla Buk. Its a sketch that she then used to make a digital version of which I purchased and was lucky enough to win the physical piece with it. Can’t wait to ge tthe frame finished and have it hanging. I kind of have an idea where I want to take it color wise and so on but it certainly often is a process.
As it was with the frames I did for Anna-Lisa Wagners Polaroids I bought a couple years ago (was that in lockdown?! I can’t remember, but jeez time flies).
I did not watch a ton of stuff, but started the animated Star Wars Series “The Bad Batch” while I was whirling around in the Home Studio and it seems good light fun. The animated stuff is often a bit too kid focused for me, which is not a criticism, it should be, but you know what I mean. A few weeks back we watched Star Wars Visions, where a bunch of Anime Studios each took a spin at Star Wars. Random Episodes, but there where certainly a couple great ones in there. And while we’re on the topic of great and Star Wars, if you haven’t and all the buzz has gone past you, make sure to give Andor a chance. What a fantastic piece of Storytelling. And I would dare to say even for not Star Wars fans.
I am also on a couple (Audio-)Books right now. Neil Stephensons Termination Shock is again a fantastic Stephenson Book I would recommend. I know with the past few years of his Books opinions went quite all over the place, but I really enjoyed most of them, as I do Gibsons releases in general. And Terminal Shock is more in the direction of Reamde than for example Seveneves or Anathem.
Also at some point Neil Gaiman had talked about the audio version of The Sandman and sadly I somehow never started the Comics back in the day, so I though it would be a great way to catch up especially before the Netflix Show was released. Not I am on Act III, the third release, and it just is my number one recommendation at the moment. The whole Series is read and spoken by a fantastic cast of actors and obviously the Story is just as magical and fantastic as you would expect from Neil Gaiman.
Music has somehow fallen a bit in the background these past couple weeks, and I am not one to always be on the front lines of new music and discovery, but in one of my daily group chat groups with friends, we had a fun music excursion a while back and on of the Bands that keep popping up in my ear are Cannons. Just so nice to listen to and especially their latest Album Fever Dream I keep coming back to. Beautiful voice, wonderful very chill music with very nice Vibes that kinda always lift me up a but. Other than that as alway a lot of Puscifer and some Metric. Metric is also coming to Cologne very soon and I got Tickets, which is weird, as there are not many Bands I enjoy watching live, but Metric certtainly falls into that category. Plus I am not the biggest Concert or Festival guy. Clubs is a different thing, but it certainly depends on the Band and Genre. Jazz, always goes.
Not a lot of gaming going on, I keep coming back to MWII and mostly just Multiplayer and not even Warzone, but its more that I need a quick senseless distraction and fix than anything else. Concentration on grinding Camos kinda helps with that. I have a way to large backlog of more story driven Games I need to tend to at some point. That kinda stuff weighs on me too a bit to be honest. Them sitting there on my Computer or Console… judging me, waiting to be used.
Haven't worked on much, I still have a huge batch of Photos to edit and Video to finish and I am getting to that this week. Will finally also get back to Livestreaming and I here I will try to stream to Behance for my photo editing… in hopes that Behance has no problems with or gives me the option to flag a NSFW Stream. I need to work on some artistic nudes and that does not work on Twitch or YT. I will get back to streaming there too, but mostly gaming for now I think. Lets see how the Behance shizz goes first. If they do not let me do that either then there is no point of using them at all.

Lastly and most excitingly after years of wanting to get into pottery we finally started a course with a local potter. I looked for a while before booking a course with her, but most offer short courses with a couple hours in total and that was not was we were looking for to be honest. Also Claudia Holzapfels work just spoke to me. She has been doing this for a long long time also and after the first Session I am very happy to have chosen her. A kind woman with a lot of knowedge and we had a blast working on our first pieces and learning a bit about clay and pinching it. I am quite happy with my first pinch cp, I actually got to make two, and they are drying off now, I am not sure when we get to fire them, but I hope it is soon as I really want to enjoy a cup of tea out of a cup I made myself.
And just in case you need to get in the mood, as so often, the Brits have a fantastic TV Show for that… The Great British Throwdown.
