THE WEAKLY 054

The Weakly number fifty four.

Happy New Year friends, foes and people with ugly toes.

Hello hello, how is everyone doing in these grey and cold times in the northern hemisphere?! Not even considering the weird and fucked up political shit going on literally everywhere. With all that my sleeping pattern seems to have changed ever since our vacation as well honestly on the one hand I am happy I get more sleep than I did all of last year, but also annoyed I sleep for so long. It might get back to something a bit more normal soon, but it is somewhat annoying.
Let’s get to our weekly Photo Post and as I mention in there I need to find a good rhythm for posting and I am not sure right now, if sticking to a specific one is the right thing, or what we gonna end up on, but yeah… I guess it just needs to play out for a while.

We did go quite slow in terms of Films and Shows, We started with the fifth Season of Fargo which seems to go as hard as the Seasons before it. And at least got one Film in and in the great possibilities right now we went with Leave The World Behind. Wonderful cast, as to be expected quite weird for a Sam Esmail Movie, but also kind of timely looking at how things are developing around the Globe these days.

Unfortunately Pottery Class was cancelled due to Covid, I hope we can continue tomorrow…

A thing I wanted to mention for weeks now and kept forgetting was a a couple books I finally finished and one I started on vacation. I think I had mentioned me starting with Crying in H Mart, which was a delight. Such an honest and beautiful retelling of her experience of losing her mother… and their relationship to food. I had heard all the buzz about it when it came out, but took me a while to get to and then finish it and that is more a e problem of finding/taking the time to read these books than the Books themselves. I also read Werner Herzogs Autobiography Every Man For Himself And God Against All. I listened to it in German as he not only read it himself, but also it was initially written in German. And what a delight it was. I am a Herzog fan in general, his Movies are amazing and always a bit weird, but always so clear. His way of using language is just wonderful. In German or English, but also no matter if spoken or written. His own way of poetic expression really. After finishing those two I started with Nite Proses The Maid and I am still at it, so far entertaining, but not 100% sure what to make of it.

The workshop is in order mostly, I am still sorting stuff out, but that is all in the Studio at the moment and I will finalize everything this week as I need to start filming and shooting really. Happy to get doing stuff in the workshop as well again. So so many cool things I need and want to get to, so hopefully lots coming up next week.

stay safe out there, be kind, to others, to yourself.
T.

Also here you can find my friends post of this week with whom?(!?!?) I entered into this weekly arrangement. It will be updated as they link their posts. Some are in German btw.
